As the "first call" cellist in western Montana, Janet has played on albums by John Floridis, Laurie Rasmussen, Brian Kopper, John Stoltz, and Willson and McKee, as well as performing live with an incredible list of musicians ranging from Tony Bennett to the rock group Queen. She has recently been sharing the stage with singer-songwriter Judy Fjell, as well as John Floridis' Large Ensemble, an 11 piece group performing original music. Janet plays a cello made in England in the late 1700s. Its maker could scarcely imagine the music she would bring forth from his creation over 200 years later, but he would surely approve.

Cellist Janet Haarvig has been associated
with Earthpassage since its inception, contributing her outstanding cello
playing along with her compositional skills. Equally at home in classical,
folk, and new music settings, her cello speaks with a unique and personal
voice. Janet appears on Glacier Journey, which features several of her
compositions, as well as White Cloud Big Sky and Quiet Paths.
